Synopsis
RISING is a festival celebrating a variety of art from visual arts, installations, and performances and also hosts an art gallery in the Flinders Street ballroom. Founded in 2021, the festival celebration hosted by RISING occurs every June in Naarm, Melbourne. It’s a not-for-profit organization funded by the general public, public partners, and corporate organizations and prides itself in the display of art and its reach in new audiences. RISING has 38 accessible venues for anyone to experience the rich culture that Melbourne has to offer.

RISING. Something more complex than just showcasing art. It’s a festival and gallery to show everyone what Melbourne has to offer. Spanning over 30 venues to enjoy what they have to show, RISING shares a variety of works from visual arts, installations, performance, and live music to unique food events. It’s a celebration of the culture created here in Melbourne and doesn’t conform to conventional means of displaying art. Taking place every June, it’s an experience that brings everyone together and showcases modern art, the mixing of modern and traditional art, as well as incorporating the values of the First Nations People. It’s a spectacle that stands for everything that is Melbourne.
