NGV
Synopsis
The NGV is home to both modern and indigenous art pieces. It's the most visited and well known gallery in Australia. With culturally important art pieces on display, it's important to look deeper into the meaningful implications on what they represent and the land and culture they come from.
Transcript
The national gallery of Victoria or as it is more widely known the NGV is the oldest and most
visited gallery in the whole of australia. The ian potter centre at NGV is home to a permanent
collection of indiginous and non indiginous artwork that dates from the colonial era to present
day pieces. Their art being displayed with artwork from across different eras allow for insight
into the lives and minds behind the artists and allow us to understand the historical context
and the stories that the artwork have to tell. We can also reflect on how the land and stories
of the aboriginal peoples have changed as we have progressed further into the future.
